Leo Wamuthende has won Mbeere North election after defeating Newton Karish. The election result is as follows:

There are many lessons to learn from this election.
• Ruto is still a force in Mount Kenya region
• Pro Kithure Kindiki has some influence in Mount Kenya East. He is an asset to President Ruto.
• Rigathi Gachagua is not the undisputed kingpin of Mount Kenya. The former DP has a lot of work to do.
• For opposition to win,Gachagua should avoid thinking that only the Mountain is important. He should respect Matiangi and Natembeya.
• It will be very difficult to defeat Ruto in 2027
