Emurua Dikirr MP Johanna Ngeno is dead. He died today 28/2/2026 through helicopter crash.
Earlier, Member of Parliament Ngong Ngeno Ole Kisiara had shared a video from the helicopter that subsequently crashed in Mosop, Nandi County. The lawmaker visited Mara Rianta and then flew to Endebess in Trans Nzoia County. May his soul rest in peace.
Hon Ngong Ngeno Ole Kisiara was from attending this function in Endebes, Trans Nzoia County, to join friends, fans, and fellow leaders in celebrating Artist Kim Kim’s remarkable 35th anniversary in the music industry before he met his death.
Hon. Ngong Ngeno Ole Kisiara , the Member of Parliament for Emurua Dikirr, rose from a life of deep hardship to become one of the most vocal and fearless leaders in the Rift Valley and Kenya at large. Born in 1972, Ngeno grew up in a family struck by poverty—his father was a cattle rustler, and the 1994 famine devastated everything they owned. Forced to relocate to Molo, young Ngeno walked up to 50 kilometers daily with 16 donkeys transporting charcoal and maize just to make ends meet. Despite the odds, he pursued education with determination, attending Mogondo Primary, Maseno School for his KCSE, and later acquiring a BA in International Law from Kyiv, an LLB from Mt. Kenya University, and a master’s in International Studies from the University of Nairobi.
His political career began in 2007 when he contested the Kilgoris parliamentary seat but claimed he was rigged out, leading to violent protests. In 2013, he won the newly created Emurua Dikirr Constituency seat and was re-elected in 2017 and 2022, solidifying his grassroots support. Known for his boldness and defiance, Ngeno has been arrested multiple times over fighting for people’s rights during forest evictions, BBI politics, and property disputes but has never backed down. In Parliament and on the ground, he champions the development of his constituency, launching major road projects, distributing bursaries worth millions, and providing school buses to improve education access.
Ngeno was installed as a Kipsigis elder and community spokesperson, elevating him to a new level of traditional and political authority. When insecurity rocked areas like Angata Barikoi in 2025, he courageously demanded justice for the people, directly confronting law enforcement after civilian deaths. His actions—often misunderstood by critics—are seen by his supporters as heroic and selfless. Today, Hon. Johana Ngeno stands not just as a local MP but as a symbol of resilience, leadership, and defiance against injustice. To many within the Kalenjin community and across Kenya, he represents a chosen leader, one whose journey from barefoot hardship to national leadership continues to inspire a future defined by courage, development, and unwavering service.
