Two Zambian women who were caught stealing in a supermarket were embarrassed in 2015 after being painted yellow by a crowd.
The managers of the shop, alongside other strangers, painted the shoplifters with yellow paint. They then left the crowd to deal with them as people laughed to death.
However, Zambian human rights commission are investigating why the managers of the clothes shop decide to put law into their hands. The commission interviewed the store manager in the capital, Lusaka, who admitted that they were painted, saying they consented to it in place of being fined or taken to the police.
