Raheem Sterling is set to join Manchester City at a fee believed to be not less than £49m.The Liverpool winger will undergo a mandatory medical test on Monday after which he will officially be confirmed a City player.
Last season Sterling refused to sign a new contract with Liverpool which eventually strained his relationship with the club management.The club had expressed desire to retain the player and even review his salary upwards but he instead declined the offer thus making the club lose interest in him.
The deal between Liverpool and Manchester City was struck on Monday.The player is expected to earn £200,000 a week,making him one of the most expensive players in the English Premier League.
