It seems Jack Ranguma is eating live with a big spoon. Apparently, the Kisumu Governor has spent over Sh.21 million in Royal City Hotel Kisumu.
Auditor General Mr.Edward Ouko released a report indicating that Ranguma stayed in the hotel for less than 4 months, where he spent Sh. 20,910,169.The report further reveals that the Governor opted to stay in a room where he pays Sh. 12,000 for VIP rooms per night. The room contains a flat screen TVs, wireless internet, tea and coffee making facility, air conditioners and mini bar fridges.
The Auditor’s report adds that the Governor hired a car from the hotel at Sh. 25,000 a day yet there were three official vehicles for him.
After winning the 2013 elections, Jack Ranguma decided to stay in the hotel to allow the renovation of his official residence. But questions arise as to why he opted to live in a very expensive hotel yet his home is less than 15 kilometers from his office.
