Atleast 30 passengers have been confirmed dead after a boat carrying over 200 passengers capsized in Lake Victoria near Remba Island, Kenya. The accident occurred on Wednesday morning.
So far three bodies have been recovered, of which two are children. Rescue operation involving locals, Red Cross officers and government officers is underway.
Lake Victoria covers Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania and a lot of activities involving fishing and transport happen there. Every year over 5000 fishermen die in the lake through boat accidents.
