There is a fake NGO by the name East Africa Sub-Sahara Safe Promotion Foundation (EASSASPF) which is taking advantage of desperate job seekers to solicit money from them with the promise of giving them jobs.
The NGOs Co-ordination Board, whose responsibility is to register and to monitor NGO activities, has clarified that the said NGO is not registered and therefore not allowed to conduct any activities within the country.
“The matter has been reported to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation for further investigations and possible prosecution,”Read a statement from the body
Fifteen officials of the NGO have been arrested for defrauding 1,000 youths from Baringo, Uasin gishu and Nandi counties with the promise of offering them jobs in Nairobi.
East Africa Sub-Sahara Safe Promotion Foundation (EASSASPF) has been telling Kenyans that they work with the ministry of Devolution to help the youths secure jobs either in the government or private sector.
The NGO coordination Board has cautioned members of the public against parting with cash when seeking employment.
