Manchester United suffered their first defeat of the season on Saturday at Liberty Stadium when they were condemned to a 2-1 loss by Swansea City.

Juan Mata scored the first goal of the match from a close range before Andre Ayew equalized for Swansea City. Ayew then provided a marvelous pass for Bafetimbi Gomis, whose shot sneaked past Sergio Romero to give Swansea a third straight win against United.

This was Luis Van Gaal’s 50th game in charge of Manchester United and a loss for his team was a miserable way to chase the English Premier League title.

Manchester United spent over £150m on transfers alone, which is more than what Swansea City has spent on transfers in their entire history.
