K24 Group Managing Editor Peter Opondo has resigned after serving the station for two years.
The seasoned Journalist handed over his resignation letter in May 2015 to venture into private business. However, sources indicate that he is set to start his TV station to rival K24.
While accepting Mr.Opondo’s resignation, Mediamax CEO Ian Fernandes thanked him for working tirelessly in ensuring the company achieves its targeted goals; he wished him well in the new venture.
In 2013, K24 raided several media houses where they poached several journalists, including Peter Opondo.During that time, Citizen TV suffered the most, they had to advertise for employment in order to fill vacancies left by several journalist who joined K24.
It is believed that the company will undergo restructuring soon and some of the Journalists who left other stations may face the axe. Nation FM and Standard Media Group did the same this year where popular Journalists like Mwanaisha Chidzuga, Sanaipei Tande and Ciku Muiruri were all fired.
