Kenya Premier League title defenders Gor Mahia were on Sunday declared KPL champions after drawing with Ulinzi Stars at Afraha Stadium Nakuru.
Ulinzi Stars went into the match with the aim of stopping a club with largest fan base in Kenya but they didn’t manage to break Gor Mahia’s solid defense. The game ended 0-0 despite the hosts missing several open chances.
Kogalo becomes the first team to win the Kenyan Premier League trophy without losing a single match in a season. Their stunning performance is largely contributed by solid support from their fans in terms of financial and moral support as well as team spirit portrayed by players.
The team has to wait until they play their last match of the season when they will be officially handed over the trophy, in the meantime they should start early celebrations.
