News just in indicates that President Uhuru Kenyatta will reshuffle the cabinet.
Reliable sources say the President is currently preparing the final list which he will present to Parliament for vetting after the announcement of his new team. In the list, former Gatanga Member of Parliament Peter Kenneth is expected to replace the outgoing Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru. The list is also expected to feature four new faces; one from Coast, one from Western, one from Rift Valley and one from Mount Kenya Region.
Former Ministers Charity Ngilu, Michael Kamau, David Chirchir and Kazungu Kambi will not be given their seats back because their cases are still pending in court.
The new cabinet is expected to have 22 cabinet secretaries, which is the maximum number allowed by the constitution. The minimum number is 16 but the President is keen to have regional balance to reach out to communities which are considered hostile to Mount Kenya leadership.
