Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula is in celebratory mood this afternoon after Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission failed to delete his name from the voters’ register.
IEBC Chairman Isaack Hassan said the commission did not get sufficient evidence to prove that Wetangula bribed voters during the 2013 general elections. He further added that it would be against the constitution to delete his name.
Senate Speaker Ekwe Ethuro had gazette the finding of court and subsequently ordered the IEBC to delete Wetangula’s name from the principal register.
The latest development means the Bungoma Senator is free to vie for any seat in 2017 and subsequent elections.
