Manchester United board has resolved to sack team Manager Louis Van Gaal after producing a series of poor results for the former English Premier League champion.

The board resolved that Van Gaaal’s Assistant,Ryan Giggs, will take over on interim capacity as the team searches for a new manager.

A defeat to Bournemouth and subsequent defeat in the hands of Stoke City and lately a defeat at Southampton dimmed United’s hopes of winning the Premier League, prompting the board to call for an emergency meeting which resolved to fire Van Gaal.

Louis Van Gaal submitted his resignation to the board immediately after the Manchester Executive Board Meeting today. The board then agreed to relieve him of his duties.

Van Gaal’s exit leaves the position up for grabs. Among those expected to succeed him include Bayern Munich Manager Pep Guardiola and former Chelsea Manager Jose Mourinho.
