Job Interview Questions You Don’t Have To Answer

277

When attending a job interview, recruiters often ask series of questions. But do you know there are specific questions you don’t have to answer? Even if you don’t answer them, you won’t lose any marks.

The following are questions you don’t have to answer in any interview

  1. Are you married? Do you have any children?

This is a personal issue, unless there are benefits the company is giving which require that you state the number of children you have and the name of your spouse. Otherwise, you can chose to ignore the question and nothing will happen.

  1. What is your religion?

No one should be discriminated against religion when it comes to employment. If the recruiter asks you about your religion, the best thing to do is to ignore the question, and you won’t lose marks.

  1. How old are you?

Why would a recruiter be interested in your age yet he wants to recruit someone with the best skills? If you decide to ignore the question about your age, no one would negate your marks.

  1. Do you have any chronic disease?

This question should not be asked in public. The law requires an individual to willingly give details of their health when the insurance company wants to cover workers.

If the interviewer asks you this question, be quick to ignore.

  1. What’s your nationality?

You don’t have to state your nationality, but inform the interviewer, if he asks you about your nationality, that you are legally allowed to work in that country.
