A middle aged man was shot and seriously wounded on Monday after he tried to attack Uganda’s Chief Justice Bart Katureebe with an iron bar.
The man, who was fully armed with a huge iron bar, charged towards Katureebe but the Chief Justice’s security was alert. They quicky prevented the man from attacking Katureebe by shooting him and later disarmed him.
Confirming the incident, Polly Namaye, the deputy police spokesperson, said the guard from the Very Important People Police Unit (VIPPU) disabled the suspect on suspicion that he wanted to harm the Chief Justice.
