United Nations is the best employer in Kenya in terms of salaries and working conditions. The body, which has offices in Gigiri Nairobi, employs workers on contract basis but what they offer in terms of salaries and other packages is out of this world.
Individuals join United Nations at different levels based on qualifications and years of experience. The lowest level is Level I while the highest Level is Level XI.Employees are paid according to the level they were employed at.
In year 1, Level 1 is paid Sh 667,049 while the highest level, Level XI, is paid Sh 840,480.
If an employee stays at UN for a period of 7 years, Level I employee will take home Sh 2,534,594 while employee at Level XI will take home Sh 3,942,694.
Remember this is monthly salary and is not taxable!
United Nations too employs Interns and volunteers. Interns are paid not less than Sh83, 000 per month while volunteers are paid some pocket money when they are in the field.
