President Uhuru Kenyatta has traversed his backyard,Central Kenya, to please his subjects. There are fears that his people may not vote ,after all ,after they realized that what they hoped to get from Uhuru’s government never came to pass. Now they have resolved not to vote so as Raila can become the president. To stop this ‘nonsense’,Uhuru has camped in the region.
To get more explanation, Mungai Mwangi has stated why Uhuru might lose the 2017 general elections. Here is Mungai’s story.
“After Uhuru Kenyatta realized that all is not well in his home province, he has gone back to try and prevent people there from slipping away from his fingers. Uhuru is on a three day visit to the central Kenya.
As I have said before, Uhuru Kenyatta has got a class of very rich Kikuyu billionaires. These guys are the ones who dominate this country economically. Let us talk the truth here. Money is very powerful and can determine who to become the next president. These elites use all tools at their disposal to make sure that their most favourite candidate get the coveted seat. The aim is to protect their private properties. They don’t take it kindly when you try to interfere with their private properties. When Moi tried to take their private properties in 80s so as to tame them, they fought him tooth and nail. Moi’s strategy was to take their private properties and cut them down to size. A good example is when Moi took all the so called Kikuyu banks and put them together to make the co operative Bank of Kenya. Then he proceed and took the properties of the likes of SK Macharia’s Madhu paper and sold it off to an Asian man. The likes of Stanley Githunguri had to fight it hard to make sure that his Lillian Towers was not taken away. The Luo community was at this time still opposing Moi but the pressure was not hot enough to worry him. When Moi decided to tame these billionaires they decided to fight him to the bitter end. They don’t like anybody messing with profits and private properties. You will never see them in public limelight and those people who are seen as the ones who are influential, the likes of Kuria are just their errand boys. The real power brokers are multi billionaires behind the scenes. When I hear people making noise to the likes of Kuria I am tempted to laugh because Kuria is a mere boy compared to these tycoons. During Kibaki era, they were referred to as Kikuyu council of elders or DP council of elders. These tycoons are the ones who decide which direction the Kikuyu people will take. The likes of Peter Munga, Chris Kirubi, Joe Wanjui, George Muhoho the Uhuru uncle, Peter Kanyago, Nat Kangethe, Njenga Karume when he was alive, Joe Wanjui and many other Kikuyu tycoons. They have a very tight grip on the community because they owe many properties and some institutions that can be used to influence people and the masses for instance the media. The media houses like Nation Media, Media Max, Royal Media, Capital FM etc are all owned by them. Even the Standard Group is co owned by Moi and Kenyatta family. Now, when Kikuyu and Luo leaders came together in the 80s together with other leaders, they decided to remove Moi from power. The opposition forces grew day after day and by 2002, Moi was able to hand over power to their favourite candidate Mwai Kibaki. Moi had chosen Uhuru Kenyatta as his heir but the tycoons rejected him and used the media to label him as Project Uhuru. When the other Kikuyu tycoons joined the opposition, Moi pleased with Kenyatta family not to join them for this would have been a big blow to him and his plans. At first, Uhuru was not interested in the presidency, it was Moi who forced him to it. Then, after this, the Kikuyu council of elders, (very rich Kikuyu tycoons) accepted Uhuru to be the leader of the community, so that he could protect their interests. These elites are very discriminative, they cannot choose someone who is not moneyed. The community seems to be slowly knowing that the billionaires have been using them as voting robots so as to propel their choice who would protect their profits and private properties. It is like that. I think they are no critics today because I have talked the truth, and if there is, let them proof me wrong. Thanks comrades”
