Kentom College Preparatory School is an International School in Nairobi, which is exclusively for the rich. The school charges Ksh 537,000 per term and non-refundable admission fees of Ksh 100,000.
What is more shocking is that the fees is for preparatory and lower classes. Below you can see admission requirements to year 2 and year 3.
ADMISSIONS PROCESS YEAR 2
Thank you for your interest in Kenton.
- Kenton accepts children after their 6th Birthday.
- The admission process may start 2 years before intended year of entry.
- Effective September 2016 Kenton School fees will be KShs. 537,000/- per term.
- School Fees are due at the beginning of each Term. There are 3 terms per year.
- School Fees are marginally increased at the beginning of each academic year (September).
In order to start an admission process, please provide the following details:-
- Full Names, Date of Birth and Gender of the child.
- Nationality.
- Details of the current school the child is attending.
- Names and contact details of the parents (please include email address and cell numbers).
- Provide details if a previous application has been made, including one for another child.
- Request a Parents (ONLY) meeting with the Headmistress, Mrs. Cussans. This will include a tour of the school.
Once these are received the application process will commence as follows:-
- A Registration Form will be given by the Headmistress at the Parents’ meeting. If you wish to continue with a formal application the Registration form needs to be completed and returned before the assessment date, accompanied by a non-refundable Registration Fee of KShs 10,000/- made payable to Kenton College Trust.
- Assessments: Year 2 sibling assessments will be held in November prior to the year of entry. Year 2 non-sibling assessments will be held in January prior to the September year of entry.
- After the assessment is complete, the Headmistress will communicate with the parents as to whether the child has been accepted into Kenton or not.
- If accepted, there is a non-refundable Admission Fee of KShs. 100,000 payable to the school.
- Please note that final confirmation of acceptance of admission is not given until payment of the Admission Fee.
- Admission is subject to Parents agreeing to and signing the Parents’ contract.
- For successful applicants an Induction day is held in June.
- Parents and children are welcome to attend our Open Afternoon, usually held end November.
YEAR 3 AND ABOVE ENTRY PROCEDURE
In the case of applications for Years 3 to 8 (i.e. other than Year 2), the Headmistress, Mrs Cussans, initially needs to confirm whether a suitable place is available in the Year group requested. For this purpose please provide the Registrar with the following details:-
- Full Names, Date of Birth and Gender of the child.
- Nationality.
- Details of the current school the child is attending.
- Names and contact details of the parents (please include email address and cell numbers).
- Details of any previous application to Kenton, including one for another child.
If the application can be considered further, the process will commence as follows:
- An appointment is made for the Parents (ONLY) to meet with the Headmistress.
- A Registration Form will be given by the Headmistress at the meeting. This should be completed and returned together with a non-refundable Registration Fee of KShs 10,000/- made payable to Kenton College Trust, and a photograph.
- The Headmistress will arrange an assessment of your child and is obliged to inform the current school.
- Once the assessment is complete, the Headmistress will communicate with the parents as to whether a place can be offered.
- If accepted, there is a non-refundable Admission Fee of KShs. 100,000 payable to the school.
- Final confirmation of acceptance of admission is not given until payment of the Admission Fee.
- Admission is subject to Parents agreeing to and signing the Parents’ contract.
- An orientation day is normally arranged before the new term begins.
- Effective September 2016 Kenton School fees will be KShs. 537,000/- per term.
