It seems Raila Odinga is serious this time after his stronghold registered the highest number of voters ever. Latest statistics show that in one week, Western, Nyanza, Coast and Ukambani registered a total of 1.5 million new voters against Uhuru’s 500,000 voters.
More shocking news indicate that the CORD leader’s strongholds continue to register thousands of new voters even after the first week, something that has shocked Jubilee government.
It is believed the reason the president is traversing Central Kenya and his strongholds is because his side has realized CORD are aware what made them lose to him in 2013.They have therefore mobilized their subjects to register to the last man/woman. Currently, those women who have been ignorant for a long time in Nyanza have registered as voters, even the form 4 leavers are not left behind.
Recently, on Thursday last week, one IEBC official was overheard saying,”hii wakati Jubilee haina bahati,hawa jamaa wa Raila wamekasirika”.Even after saying so, the official said they are not sure how the president will react after losing to Raila.
