Congratulations on your promotion. To begin with, you don’t have to prove that you are more superior to your fellow colleagues through buying an expensive smartphone. Your thinking is dangerous as it shows how the salary raise you have just received will not help. I won’t be wrong by saying, soon you will be forced to move to a more expensive house, buy a Mercedes Benz, start eating in expensive hotels, buy designer clothes, just to scare your collegues.If you manage to do all this, you will eventually go broke and become a laughing stock.
What I would suggest is, consider investing your money in meaningful ventures instead of investing in gadgets. There are many people in the country who earn even 20 times your salary and they don’t show off to their colleagues, they instead put into good use the money they pocket end of each month.
I highly doubt you even deserved the promotion because you are thinking like half-baked graduate. But since you wanted my advise, I will recommend a Ksh 15,000-Ksh25,000 smartphone, which is suitable for a person like you.
