Believe it or not,Okiya Omtatah is not a lawyer.His biography reads:

Okiya Omtatah was born in Busia County on 30th November ,1964. The activist joined St. Pauls’ Secondary School for form 1 and 2. It is there that he met a missionary priest who greatly influenced his convictions to date. He later joined St. Peters School in Mukumu in 1981 for his Form 3 and 4 where he passed his O levels exams. He was then admitted to the same school for his Form 5 and 6 and cleared in 1983.

Okiya Omtatah was later admitted to The University of Nairobi for a Bachelor of Commerce degree but he declined the admission and instead joined St. Augustine in Mabanga, Bungoma where he pursued a Diploma in Philosophy.At St.Augustine Mabanga,he was diagnosed with grand mal after he suffered from a fatal injury-he almost became mad.

The activist later joined Kenya Polytechnic to pursue Mechanical and Automotive Engineering. He graduated two years later with a diploma in Mechanical and Automobile Engineering.

It’s after his graduation that he started his activism. In his entire life,Omtatah has actively pursued activism…he has sued over 1,000 personalities and appeared in court more than any Kenya, even the judges themselves.’

Omtatah’s name is about to enter into the Guinness Books of Records as the sole individual who has filed the highest number of cases in court.
