Ezekiel Mutua has named a Kisii who has been conning Kenyans through electricity Bills.Eng Momanyi approached the moral police today morning asking for a bribe so as KPLC can adjust Ezekiel’s bills.Ezekiel,who is incorruptible, reported the matter to the CID who are now looking for the Kisii man.
Here is Ezekiel’s story:
Between December and today I have paid over 200k to Kenya power for my household of five people who are away most of the time. That’s an average of 50k per month. I have filed several complaints to KPLC and everytime they give ridiculous explanations on how the bills are calculated. At one time they installed a separate metre to gauge and compare the usage but one day someone came and removed it without sharing the information with us. This morning the someone by the name Eng. Momanyi, whose details appear hereunder called, ostensibly from KPLC. He asked me how far I have gone with the issue and said he is the one in charge of power billing at the KPLC Hqs. He says he can sort out that matter for me if I gave a “small mbuzi”. According to him they have been overbilling me since 2011 and they feel I should just “talk nicely” so that they can “install the electronic meters” for me and adjust my bills. While this could be a conman (mostly like he is) masquarading as a KPLC official he has my details, my phone number and details of where I live. He even has the history of my case and knows that at one point in 2013 it appeared in the newspapers. This can only mean one this – that this fellow works for KPLC or he works in cohorts with some people in the company to fleece customers. I have no name to call criminals like these. It hurts when one feels held captive by cartels. There are many Kenyans who have endured this oppression like me because if you don’t pay the power will be disconnected. Now I have no choice but to obtain court orders to stop KPLC from disconnecting my power as I pursue the matter of what I believe to be illegal billing. In the meantime the police must arrest this conman purporting to be Eng. Momanyi!
