CORD demonstrations ended prematurely on Monday morning when police teargassed Raila Odinga and demonstrators who had assembled outside IEBC offices at Anniversary Towers.
The demonstrations had just started, and barely five minutes, the police threw teargas to the crowd, forcing them to scamper for safety. Some crowd entered the University of Nairobi while others cratered into different directions.
One eye witness said a single anti-riot vehicle managed to scatter more than 2000 CORD followers, leaving other more than 5 vehicles idle. The police then went to engage the crowd which had run to seek safety at UoN.
This is the second time CORD, led by Raila Odinga,is facing the wrath of the police after they unsuccessfully staged a demonstration two weeks ago.
Raila will now have to look for another alternative to force the IEBC officials out of office.
