US President elect Donald Trump has rejected the yet to be built Air Force One, saying the cost of constructing the plane is ridiculous.

In a tweet, Trump said:

“Boeing is building a brand new 747 Air Force One for future presidents, but costs are out of control, more than $4 billion. Cancel order!”

The Boeng 747 was to be built at a cost of $4 billion and was to be used by future US presidents, but Trump says he will instead use the current Air Force One or his luxurious plane.

The 45th US president has also criticized Boeng to wanting to make extra ordinary profit from the sale of the most secure plane on earth.

“We want Boeing to make a lot of money, but not that much money”, said Trump

The two Air Force One planes currently in use, highly modified Boeing 747-200B airliners known as VC-25s, are close to reaching the end of their 30-year life expectancy, and both require significant maintenance to stay in the air.

Trump, who is for the idea of cost cutting and creating more jobs for Americans, believes it’s better to maintain the current planes and avoid spending on new planes. He has also opted to occasionally use his plane.
