Education Cabinet Secretary, Fred Matiangi, has shocked students who sat for 2016 examination after he announced only 141 students scored straight As in that exam. As if that was not enough, the CS went ahead to confirm, in the history of Kenya, no result was cancelled.

The result also indicated that a total of 4,645 scored A- and 10,975 scored B+

This result means that all universities in Kenya will have to lower their cut off points. Now with an A-,you will comfortably study a degree in Medicine at the University of Nairobi or Actuarial Science at the same university.

The result also means that the number of self-sponsored students to private and public universities will drop significantly since less than 50,000 students scored C+ and above. This implied that most of the students will have to pursue diploma courses so as to upgrade later.
