Reports indicate that a Senator opposed to Uhuru-Raila handshake is preparing impeachment motion against President Kenyatta. The motion is being prepared and may be tabled at the Senate anytime next month.
The motion is meant to stop Uhuru from pursuing corruption cases .If it’s tabled in the Senate, it would require at least 36 Senators for it to prevail through. It’s rumoured Senators from Rift Valley will okay the motion while those allied to Raila and Uhuru will oppose it.As it stands,Uhuru and Raila have a combined 37 Senators while those allied to Ruto are less than 20.
Away from that,there is a saying within the government, “it’s either you are with Uhuru or Ruto”.This statement was relevant yesterday when some politicians sought audience from a CS allied to Ruto.The CS ignored those he believed were not in Ruto’s camp.When asked why,he said,”we give first priority to Ruto friends”.
