Sony warns their smartphone users not to use their phones underwater; else they lose the phone through internal damages.
This comes as a surprise to many users of the handset since Sony has repeatedly touted the waterproof capabilities of its devices in the past. The warning which appeared on Sony’s website is intended to caution users against making costly mistake while at the pool.
The waterproof capabilities of Sony xperia was achieved in laboratory conditions in standby mode. It’s capable of remaining leak-proof down to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes but not in deep waters.
The company further warns customers not to take pictures while in water as it will completely damage the device.
Sony issued the warning for the Xperia Z3+, which further extended to their flagship handset the Xperia Z5.
