Irshad Sumra is the owner of the Mombasa building which was sinking. The owner was former Embakasi South MP where he served until he was replaced by Mawathe. Today, Sumra explained that the building is valued ksh300 million to Ksh 350 million. He was not compensated.
KDF was called to help in demolishing the building. Those living near the building were told to move at least 1.2 kilometres away from the building. The KDF bombed it and it went down in a split of a second.
