The University of Nairobi has provided details of its accommodation fee for students who live in the hostels. Currently, the accommodation fee per semester range between Ksh 16,000 and Ksh24,000. This means that you will pay at least Ksh 32,000 for one academic year.
The reason why the fee is expensive is that the demand for the courses at the university is high. The university is also at the heart of Nairobi CBD where rent for apartments is high.If you go to rent a bedsitter outside the university,you will be required to pay average of Ksh 6,000 per month. Then add the cost of electricity ,water and other amenities. It’s better to pay for the university hostels.
