Graduate Trainee is one of the positions offered by KRA. Training takes two years and after that,they are permanently employed by KRA. The starting salary is Ksh80,000 to Ksh120,000. During training, they are paid Ksh80,000 and after graduation from training, the salary is increased to Ksh120,000.
Their first job after training is officer rank. One can remain as an officer for several years but their salary will be increasing. You will find an officer earning Ksh250,000 per month. From officer,you will be promoted to supervisor. This position attracts a monthly salary of Ksh180,000 to Ksh350,000 per month.
KRA Graduate Trainee Requirements
General KRA Graduate Trainee Requirements (based on previous intakes):
- Citizenship: Must be a Kenyan citizen.
Age: Must be 35 years or younger.
Education:
- A first degree (undergraduate) or a diploma from a recognized institution.
For some intakes, specific degrees in fields like Petroleum/Chemical/Marine engineering, Industrial Chemistry, Biochemistry, Cyber security, Geospatial, Medicine, Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine, Food Technology, and Data Analytics are encouraged.
A mean grade of at least C+ in KCSE (or equivalent) with a minimum of C+ in English and Mathematics.
Experience: No prior work experience or internship in their area of specialization after graduation.
Availability: Must be available for the full 12-month duration of the program.
Soft Skills: Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, adaptability, and customer-focused skills are often required
