At least 14 people were killed and 11 others injured on Tuesday night after Al-Shabaab gunmen attacked a village near Mandera town.

The attack occurred in Soko Mbuzi village where non-locals and quarry workers live. The incident came months after more than 70 people, mostly non-locals and non-Muslims were killed in related attacks.

The death toll may increase as those rushed to hospitals had serious injuries.

Al-shabaab has been a menace to the entire nation since Kenya invaded Somalia; at least one incident is reported every month either in villages bordering Somalia, Nairobi or Mombasa.
