Most Flooded Degree Courses In Kenya

9497

There is over 100 degree courses offered in Kenyan universities, but only a few are not saturated.

There are courses that almost everyone rushes to pursue just because they hear they are comfortable, without realizing that they will suffocate the job market.

Sometime you wonder, when you attend an interview or a job is advertised and over 10,000 graduates turn up, yet only one individual is needed.

I can confess that though some courses like Bachelor of Commerce are flooded, if an individual pursues CFA or ACCA on top of his almost useless degree paper, he will be marketable.

Having said that let me list the most flooded courses in Kenya

  1. Information Technology
  2. Masters of Business Administration (MBA)
  3. Bachelor of Economics
  4. Bachelor of Commerce (BCOM)
  5. Bachelor of Education
  6. Bachelor of Journalism and Communication
  7. Front Office/Customer Care
  8. Bachelor of Actuarial Science

Almost all the top students in KCSE rushed to study Actuarial Science in local universities-now most of them are rotting at home with their fat CVs and almost useless degree certificates.

Bachelor of Education is another course that has disappointed many. In fact getting a nice job with this almost good for nothing paper is like taking Satan to heaven again. The only job you can be assured of is that of BOG that pays Sh 3,500.

Though journalism is a good profession, and it pays in Kenya, only a few individuals are lucky, the rest end up working as sales persons or resolve to pursue agriculture.

MBA is another course that cannot help you unless you are already employed.I wonder why even the jobless rush to study MBA in Kenya yet they know very well it won;t help them anyway.
