Jobs are hard to get in Kenya, but there are few companies which employ fresh graduates each year. To make you aware that you don’t need to know anyone for you to get employed, we shall list institutions that would employ graduate trainees in the year 2017.
We have carefully analyzed previous employment trends and determined which companies are likely to give you a job. This analysis is based on the profitability of the companies, growth strategies and previous employment trends. Audit companies, especially the big four, must recruit in the coming year, just like they have done in previous years. Also in the list is Sportpesa, the most profitable company in Kenya today.
We have also included in the list Kenya Revenue Authority, Centum Investment Company and Cytonn Investment. Cytonn is also the fastest growing real estate company in the country.
Other companies you should drop your CV include Britam, UAP insurance and Kenya Airways. Someone would argue that KQ should not be in the list, but we have every reason to include it because we understand they are striving to remain afloat, fresh graduates are needed so as to boost its image and cut costs.
We also believe research companies, Synovate, Infotrak and Consumer Insight would be employing statistics graduates in 2017 due to forthcoming general elections. Also in the list are several profitable banks, which include KCB,Co-operative and NIC,both would be replacing individuals who will exit their companies.
As a fresh graduate, all you need is a second upper degree in business related course, statistics, actuarial science, engineering, economics, HR, PR and Communications, sales and marketing, real estate management and computer related courses. Besides a basic degree, you also require a relevant professional certificate. In Kenya, the most popular professional certificates include CPA, CS, CIFA, ACCA, CFA and CCIT.
The good thing about fresh graduate courses is that professional experience is not necessary, just fresh from school and you are in.You are also likely to secure leadership positions once you are through with training.
