Pictures of Mombasa Governor Hassan Ali Joho depicting the super VIP status he was awarded on his official trip to Washington DC, USA. has left many tongues wagging after they were shared on Facebook.
This comes after speculation were rife that the Mombasa Governor had been banned from setting foot in the U.S. due to his alleged links to drug trafficking something that he has vehemently denied. Joho has accused the Jubilee Government on several occasions of unfairly linking in to drug business and even dared them to arrest him if they have the evidence. He attributes his woes to being a steadfast supporter of Raila Odinga and challenged the President to arrest Kiambu Governor William Kabogo and other Jubilee politicians like Mary Wambui who have been linked to the vice.
The government has stepped up its operations to seize drug barons at the Coast whom they believe are Joho’s associates. Early this month, Baktash and Ibrahim Asha and two foreigners Vijay Goswami and Hussein Shabakash were extradited to the U.S. on drug trafficking charges. On Febuary 13, Anti-narcotics detectives arrested 5 most wanted drug barons in Mombasa where they recovered Ksh 18 million shillings and 15Kgs of heroin.
