Jackline Mwende hit the headlines last year after she claimed her husband assaulted her for being childless, that lead to the loss of her both harms and deep panga cuts on her skull.
However, Mwende admits to have had an extra marital affair that might have led to the battering. She had been dating an undisclosed friend whom they had reached an agreement that he impregnates her then part ways.
She went ahead to explain that she was trying to save her marriage to Stephen Ngila who had despised her for being childless for a while. Besides that, she always longed for a kid of her own.
“I was desperate for a child and that is why I strayed out of my marriage,” she said on an interview with Daily Nation.
This comes days after a German organisation, Merck, built Mwende a new home through a project labelled “More than a mother”. The two-bedroomed house is located in Katham village, Machakos County.
The assault can now be linked to her affair. She confesses that she might have been seen in public a day earlier with the other man. Ngila had denied the attempted murder charges and was released on a sh200, 000 bond. The case continues on 27th February.
