Now,if you arenโt able to pursue any of the courses listed above, you will be forced to join KDF as a Servicemen/Women, Constabularies or ย Tradesmen/women. If you are comfortable with that, here are the basic requirements:
Servicemen/Women
- Must be Kenyan citizens and should not have dual citizenship.
- Age: Between 18 and 26 years old.
- Be physically and medically fit in accordance with the KDF standards.
- Have no criminal record.
- Minimum Height:
- ย Men: 1.60 m (5ft 3in).
- Women: 1.52 m (5ft).
- Minimum Weight:
- Men: 54.55 Kg (120 lb).
- Women: 50.00 Kg (110 lb).
- Female candidates must NOT be pregnant at the time of recruitment andย during the entire duration of training.
- Education: A minimum of mean grade D (plain) in KCSE for the generalย recruits.
Constabularies
- Be ex-Kenya Defence Forces Service Member
- Possess a Discharge Certificate of minimum โVery Goodโ in conduct.
- Must have served at least a 3 or 9 yearsโ colour service.
- Must be Kenyan citizens and should not have dual citizenship.
- Age โ Below 52 years old.
- Be physically and medically fit in accordance with the KDF standards.
- Have no criminal record.
Tradesmen/women
Prospective candidates willing to apply must satisfy the conditions andย requirements given below.
- Must be Kenyan citizen and should not have dual citizenship.
- Age: Between 18 and 26 years old.

- Minimum Height:
