There is a new proposed referendum draft that’s exciting Kenyans.The Referendum has suggested that the 49 seats for women Representatives be scrapped alongside Senate positions. The document also suggests that the position of Prime Minister be introduced.
In 2018,we might see Kenyans go into the referendum to vote and if passed, this will be the new government and parliament structure:
~ Prime Minister (elected by Wanjiku during the General Election), who reports to the President.
~ Two Deputy Prime Ministers appointed by the President.
~ A Cabinet of 30 Ministers, appointed by the President, can only be sacked by the President, report to the Prime Minister.
~ 210 Members of the National Assembly.
~ 14 Counties.
~ 28 Senators (each County having 2 Senators – a man and a woman).
~ ZERO Nominated Senators.
~ ZERO Nominated Members of the National Assembly.
~ ZERO Women Reps.
~ ZERO Deputy Governor.
~ ZERO Nominated MCA.
