The story that appeared on the media that Cuban Doctors who will be employed in Kenya will pocket monthly median pay of Ksh800, 000 is not true.
According to the salary scales in Kenya, a person in job group S earns Ksh 120,270 to Ksh 180,660 per month. Cuban doctors will earn same amount Job group S employees in the country earn. The Ksh800,000 salary quoted by Business Daily is equivalent to what Senior Government employees earn, who include Commissioners of various independent commissions.

Doctors from Cuba are expected to be assigned duties this month. They are in the country as a result of President Uhuru’s mutual agreement with the Cuban government.
