Janet Mbugua, one of the highest paid news anchors in East Africa, has a salary that every junior journalist is striving to earn. One thing that many Kenyans are not aware of is that the eloquent English speaker his highly learned and heavily informed.

Janet is the Founder and Director of Media Avenue Limited, where she provides services which include Public Speaking, Moderating & Emceeing. In addition, she works to empower and mentor young people particularly girls in Kenya through Inua Dada Foundation which she founded in 2013.

She started her career at the age of 19 where Capital FM hired her as a Journalist. In 2009 she was headhunted for the position of News Anchor, Reporter and Producer as well as part-time Host of the Pan-African Current Affairs show, Africa 360 by eTV in Johannesburg, South Africa.

After a short stint at the station, Royal Media Services Chairman, S.K Macharia,poached her from South Africa and offered her Ksh800,000 monthly salary. Apart from the salary, Dr.Macharia gave the South African Station over Ksh 5.4 million as a release clause for the talented journalist.

Apart from her rich professional experience, Janet is highly learned.The Citizen TV news anchor has pursued a Mass Communication Course from Limkokwing University, Malaysia and is currently pursuing a MBA in Global Business Management at the Swiss Management Academy in Nairobi, Kenya.

Janet married Edward Ndichu, who works for Standard Chartered Bank, in 2015 and later became a parent. She is blessed with a child.
