The opposition leader Raila Odinga lost the 2007 presidential elections to the retired President Mwai Kibaki but the result took a new twist when deadly violence broke down that claimed over 1,300 lives and 500,000 Kenyans were internally displaced.
In 2013, Raila lost again to President Uhuru Kenyatta; he contested the result in the Supreme Court but his appeal was dismissed.
In the two cases the Orange Democratic Movement leader blamed the Electoral body for stealing his votes.
In order to win the 2017 elections Raila Odinga, has decided to lease an electronic transmission result system which will conduct a parallel vote tallying.
The German system is capable of collecting, transmitting, tallying and storing the data obtained from all the polling centres in the country.
The ODM leader is also seeking to have an international company that will manage his social media platforms.The company should be credible and capable of interacting and connecting with young voters. Currently, his social media platforms are poorly managed and he is not going to take chances.
The 2017 elections will be his last attempt to ascend to power; he is therefore not leaving anything to chance as he seeks to seal all the loopholes.
