Justina Wamae’s husband is called Alex Kanyi. Justina and Alex met in 2017 when she contested for the Mavoko parliamentary seat. The couple married and welcomed their first child, a daughter, two years later in 2019. Justina Wamae’s husband re-ignited her passion for politics and joined the Roots Party in 2022 after unsuccessfully contesting for the 2017 parliamentary seat.
Her husband sent her a picture of George Wajackoyah wearing Gideon boots and a T-Shirt on Facebook. Then, he accompanied her to the Roots Party offices to submit her curriculum vitae and get interviewed to be George Wajackoyah’s Deputy Presidential candidate.

The businesswoman was born in 1987 (age 35 as of 2022) in Kibera, Nairobi, Kenya. Her parents raised her in Kibera but relocated to Syokimau after Kenya’s 2007-2008 post-election violence. She is the firstborn of two children.
Justina Wamae attended Kilimani Primary School, a public primary school in the Kilimani area of Westlands, Nairobi, Kenya. She completed her primary school in 2001 and joined Limuru Girls School, a national secondary school in Limuru Constituency, Kiambu County of Central Region Kenya.
While in high school, she showed her leadership skills by becoming a school prefect. Furthermore, she was also part of her school’s cheerleading squad. Wamae graduated from secondary school in 2005 and joined Daystar University in 2006.
Justina Wamae enrolled for a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Management Information Systems. At Daystar University, she was a member of the institution’s transport committee. Wamae graduated from university in 2010.
After graduating from Daystar University, she went to study for a Graduate Diploma in Purchasing and Supply at the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supplies UK between 2010 and 2012. She got the Diploma and finally joined Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology for her Master’s degree. She graduated in 2014 with a Master of Science in Procurement and Logistics
