  • Total Number of Coronavirus cases rise to 25 in Kenya

Total Number of Coronavirus cases rise to 25 in Kenya

Coronavirus cases in Kenya have risen to 25 after 9 more cases were confirmed over the past 24 hours. According to Health CS Mutahi Kagwe, majority of those cases are from Kenyan.

As of yesterday,23/3/2020 the total number of coronavirus cases were 19. Additional number was obtained from police officers who had interacted with Kilifi Deputy Governor, Siaya Priest Oduor and other Kenyans who contracted the virus last week.

The number of corona virus victims has risen exponentially and it’s following a pattern that was witnessed in Italy,China,Spain,USA,UK and other countries ravaged by the pandemic. If this trend continues in the next one week, the number would rise to more than 1,000.

The positive thing is that nobody has died from Coronavirus in Kenya. However, none of the positively identified cases has fully recovered.

We project that by Friday this week, the number of coronavirus cases in Kenya would have risen to 100.

  • Paxful Launches A List Of Top 10 African Women To Watch In Blockchain And Bitcoin, In Line With International Women’s Month

Paxful Launches A List Of Top 10 African Women To Watch In Blockchain And Bitcoin, In Line With International Women’s Month

Blockchain technology is one of the most notable developments of our age. A recent Deloitte survey of senior executives worldwide in 2019 found that 53% of respondents said blockchain has become a critical priority – an increase from last year. And 83% of respondents believe there are compelling use cases for blockchain.

In honor of International Women’s Day celebrated annually in March, the global peer-to-peer bitcoin marketplace, Paxful, is shining the spotlight on the contribution women are making to the rapidly growing blockchain and bitcoin industries.

Paxful has launched an annual list of the leading female professionals and entrepreneurs in the African Blockchain and Bitcoin industries, to highlight some of the most influential women in these emerging sectors. In no particular order, the individuals on this year’s list are all innovative and inspirational leaders who are actively making a difference and carving the pathway for other females to enter and make their mark in a space that has been predominantly occupied and led by men.

Ray Youssef, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Paxful says: “This year’s International Women’s Day theme, #EachforEqual is drawn from a notion that ‘collectively, each one of us can help create a gender-equal world’. The tech sector rightly gets a bad rap for not yet being inclusive enough. As an industry, we can all do better. Beyond a moral imperative, there’s no question that tech businesses and our society can only benefit from embracing talent with diverse backgrounds, experiences, values, and ideas.”

“Personally, I think women are better at tech. Women add a new dimension to innovation, they’re better collaborators, community builders and in many ways better problem solvers. And as such are absolutely critical to the future of the blockchain and bitcoin ecosystem. Paxful is committed to growing female participation in the sector, and especially championing female talent from emerging markets,” adds Youssef.

    Leading by example

While in a 2018 study by blockchain incubator and VC Longhash, only 14.5% of blockchain startup team members were found to be women, more than 40% of Paxful’s employees are women and the company is set to further increase female appointments across all its offices, which include Estonia, New York City, Philippines, as well as South Africa. Female representation is a priority in every department with many women fulfilling leadership and managerial roles across the various offices.

As an advocate for inclusion, Paxful treats every employee equally no matter gender, race, culture or skill set; providing deep training and development opportunities to all employees and ensuring that wellness and health remain top of mind.

Understanding the challenges that come with juggling work- and family-life, fully-paid parental leave is provided with mothers also receiving a special one-time bonus with the arrival of a new-born. Paxful offers all employees remote work options, flexible hours, gym membership, personal training, supplements and vitamins, team sports activities, massages and chiropractic services, as well as nutritious lunch and dinner meal options at the office.

    Priority: Education

Well known for its investment in bitcoin education, Paxful started rolling out mini bitcoin-economy training seminars at tertiary institution campuses across South Africa and Kenya last year. Female participation in the training sessions was high.

The company later launched a global ambassador program called the Paxful Peer Program aimed at connecting young bitcoin users across the globe. African female participants have been among some of the top performers in the program. Through its #BuiltWithBitcoin charitable initiative the company has also awarded bursaries to women from underprivileged backgrounds and plans to build 100 schools across emerging markets.

  • Coronavirus toll on the aviation industry and call for support measures for African airlines

Coronavirus toll on the aviation industry and call for support measures for African airlines

The Coronavirus (COVID-19) is taking a toll on the aviation industry and global economy at large. The pandemic has restricted national and international supply chains. Economic activity in various regions has been disrupted by quarantine measures and reduced domestic demand for goods and services.

To date, COVID-19 has claimed around 6,674 lives across the globe. So far, 159 countries have reported infections and in Africa the cases reported as of 19 March were 640 in 34 countries.

The passenger business of the global air transport industry is estimated by IATA to make revenue losses between $63 billion and $113 billion in 2020 while no estimates are currently available for the impact on airline cargo operations. The forecast for global real GDP growth could dip below 2.5% this year according to the Economist Intelligence Unit. In the likelihood that the virus remains uncontained, the economic impact will be much deeper and more persistent.

The African Airlines Association (AFRAA) urges African governments to consider the compensation of inevitable losses, the alleviation of exogenous operating costs, and the subsidization of the African airlines in a bid to assure the industry’s viability.

“Demand for air travel has been negatively affected by the COVID-19 outbreak, which has resulted in airlines making losses due to substantial schedule changes, travel restrictions and cancellations. AFRAA strongly recommends that African airlines engage their stakeholders to develop an all-inclusive proactive response strategy that addresses the adverse impact of the COVID-19 on their business to ensure airlines recover effectively to support key economic sectors” stated Mr. Abderahmane Berthé, AFRAA Secretary General

He added that AFRAA remains at the forefront with its members and the airline industry at large, in collaborative efforts to deal with and contain the pandemic calling upon all stakeholders to take the necessary measures and precautions to keep safe.

The African airlines association continues to follow the developments closely and is issuing weekly bulletins to its member airlines which consists of 45 airlines cutting across the entire continent and other stakeholders to assist in dealing with the impact of the COVID-19, as well as to share guidelines and best practices.

I’m going to share with you and explain to you, “How is life here in Milan” during these difficult days and how do I think you should learn from the mistakes and their consequences that we live here.

We are currently in quarantine. We don’t take to the streets, the police are in constant motion and arrest anyone outside his home.

Everything is closed! … business, malls, stores, all streets without movement.

Feeling of the end of the world !!

Italy, the country of living life, is transformed from one moment to the next as if it were a dark country of war.

It is a fact that I never thought I would ever live!

People are confused, sad, anxious and helpless, and often do not understand how this reality was imposed on them and when this whole nightmare will end.

*The big mistake was that at the start of the first hit people continued to lead their lives as usual and took to the streets for work, entertainment and feeling like a vacation period, so gatherings with friends and banquets abound.*

Everyone was wrong and so were you!

I beg you, be careful, this is neither a laugh nor a joke.

Protect your loved ones, your parents, and your grandparents! The disease is dangerous for them.

About 200 people die here every day, not because medicine in Milan is not good (it’s one of the best in the world), but rather because there are no places for everyone!

Doctors choose who will die! This is only because of the silliness of the citizens at the beginning, who decided to continue their lives as usual, regardless of the new situation!

Please, learn from the mistakes, we are a small country that could end up with a great tragedy.

    *Listen well now…*

Don’t go out into crowded places.

Try not to eat in public places.

Stay longer at home during this time!

Listen to the Ministry of Health guidelines (don’t play it!).

Talk about a meter away from each person, do not come close, do not cuddle or accept.

Get a complementary and preventive treatment and learn from others’ mistakes.

We recommend that you take vitamin C to boost your immune system.

Helping professionals prevent the spread of the epidemic …

In Italy, the entire country is isolated, meaning 60 million people in quarantine !!

This would have been prevented if people had heard the instructions from the beginning.

Take care of yourself and the life of the ones you love ❤❤

Share it with maximum people to help the world!!
