Many Kenyans aren’t aware that your salary can be as high as you wish if you learn some tricks of how to conduct yourself in an organization.Sadly, more than 80 % of Kenyans get a salary increment of less than 5 % annually, and this happens because they don’t employ the tricks we are about to reveal to you.

If you want to earn more money in an organization, this is what you should do:

Be close to people who make critical decision for the organization

This is one sure way of getting a promotion or salary increment.

If you befriend the owner or senior managers, chances are that you will eventually succeed in earning your dream salary.

This might take time, but as someone who went to school, you can try as much as possible to ensure the owner develops interest in you.

Make sure you aren’t replaceable

You have seen a case of Classic FM’s Maina Kageni. This guy has worked for the station over the past 12 years, and it has reached a time where the company needs him more than Maina needs it.Maina is simply irreplaceable. That’s the point you should reach as an employee of any company.

At that point, you will be able to ask for any salary you wish, which the company cannot decline.

Pursue a degree course that will place you at a position where you will earn good money

There are degree courses that if you pursue them, you automatically become subordinate to everybody else in an organization. Degrees like education, front office & customer care and nursing will automatically limit what you’ll earn in an organization. Avoid such degree unless you intend to start your own business.

There are strategic positions in companies like finance, human resources, sales and marketing, and procurement that are likely to propel you into top positions within the company. If you are employed to work in such positions; chances are that you will be rich.

Upgrade your level of education

This works, but not for all organizations.

If you feel that your salary is not enough, make sure you go for more academic papers.

Outshine your workmates

I know this might work against you sometimes, but don’t fear what your workmates will say about you. Simply do your best, provide solutions to the company and build your CV.

There are companies with thousands of employees, which makes it hard for you to be noticed. The only shortcut is by outsmarting your employees by providing solutions to the company.
