The Ugandan Government has acquired armoured vehicles for its police force; days after President Uhuru Kenyatta unveiled a fleet of armoured cars at GSU Embakasi.

The anti-riot police vehicles arrived at the port of Mombasa on Wednesday and were immediately ferried to Uganda.

The vehicles will be distributed to various police stations in Uganda in preparation for the forthcoming general elections.

President Yoweri Museveni together with his counterpart, Uhuru Kenyatta, sourced the vehicles from the same country with the aim of strengthening security, especially at a time when Al-Shabaab is a real threat.
