Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has said “Kikuyus must vote for Ruto, wapende wasipende”.The controversial governor said this over the weekend after it emerged that Mount Kenya is determined to drop Ruto.
Mandago was responding to Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui’s attacks on Rift Valley leaders, where the first timer told Kalenjins to stop cheap threats. He(Mandago) clarified that Ruto is the reason Uhuru is the president and his determination should be rewarded. He said,”wasiporudisha mkono wataona”.
This month there has been heated debate on whether Ruto should be supported by Mount Kenya unconditionally. Led by Ngunjiri Wambugu, thousands of Mount Kenya leaders said they won’t support someone like sheep-they must be begged.
The debate has even caused sharp divisions among Jubilee top leaders, which is the reason the Cabinet has been delayed.
