Receiving a bribe may not look normal before the eyes of an ignorant human being,but thousands of people receive it.While this is a crime, many people receive it without being caught. The question is, how do they manage to engage in corruption without being caught?!!!Here are the tricks they employ.
Not accept MPESA payment
People experienced in bribery never accept bribe in form of MPESA payment or any other mobile money transfer. They know this is the surest way of inviting trouble.
Accepting bribe in form of a gift
Many people, especially politicians receive bribes in form of gifts. What they do is,do someone a favour and in return receive land donations and other real asset properties.
They use a third party
Most traffic police officers,custom officials and people working in high risk areas receive bribes through a third party.
What they do is that they send someone who is not known to the giver and authority. This person receives the bribe and gives the owner in undisclosed location.
Through tenders
High placed government officials and people in influential offices receive bribes through tenders.
Through school fees
If I do you a favour and you pay school fees for my children, that’s a bribe.This kind of a bribe won’t be noticed. Paying school fees may seem a simple task but when it comes to international schools,Ksh 2 million per year is a lot of money.
Paying to a trip to a foreign land
Some people receive bribes in form of trips to foreign countries. What is common among corruption investigators is that they don’t bother to inquire whether one paid for his trip abroad or not, they only check the accounts of the suspects.
Injecting the bribe money into your company
Another way most people are not caught is that they inject the bribe into their struggling business and declaring the cash as profit. After the declaration, they end up saving the cash in banks.
