Here is the best advice from a Kalenjin man to fellow tribesmen and women about corruption.

To my Kale sisters and brothers,

If the current grand looting of the public resources was to be categorized per tribe, we would be at the helm. Thanks to the 24 years of our #Jogoo raping the economy.
This is where looting of public resources got into our heads.
This was the time our kinsmen robbed public institutions to their knees, Remember #KCC, #TelcomKe, #Coffeeboard etc the list is endless.

Those days, one of our kinsmen was collecting the rent of the entire #KICC directly into his account. I bet those rent records are in some old-dirty file in Kabarak.
The entire tea collections from #Nyayoteazones were being channelled to some individuals.

Yes, it was 24 years of ‘US’ being in power and remember, we were very powerful.

Sad thing is, we didn’t get good roads, electricity and clean water connection. No dispensaries were built. Only some girl schools were constructed. Don’t ask me why.

The biggest thing I remember about those days was the free milk we enjoyed in our early days in school.
There is nothing much we as a community can Identify with as a reward for all those years we were in power.

The looting begun then, and most of all was the destruction of #Mauforest and the same kinsmen amassing for themselves huge parcels of lands.

Nobody should cheat us that the current fight against corruption is targeting Wakalenjin. Our tribe has not looted anyone’s money or property. Some vifaranga wa the then chama cha mama na baba are thieves. Yes they are our brothers, sisters or relatives, but they should carry their own crosses. This community is not party to their looting nor does it protect them.

Investigate, arrest, prosecute and jail all those thieves from our community.
Period.
