The election of Babu Owino has been nullified.
While making g the ruling on Friday, justice Joseph Sergon said the elections were not free and fair.
The judge ordered Babu to pay Sh5 million in costs.
Babu’s win was challenged by Francis Mureithi,who had garnered slightly less than the incumbent’s votes. It was clear during vote counting exercise Mureithi knew something we didn’t know.In one of his Facebook posts,he said:
“Everybody will be surprised to know what is in the report after the scrutiny process. Final Verdict will be given on Friday March 2nd by the court. I choose to hold my celebrations until the final announcement. TUZIDI KUOMBA. Blessed day”
The level of confidence exhibited by Mureithi was worrying,even as Owino was celebrating.
Today,Babu was humbled and after the ruling,this is what he said:
“Our victory has been postponed. We will come back stronger than before. God bless Embakasi East”
What we foresee is,Babu will lose to Mureithi.
