Here is Murkomen’s Statement about Mau Evictions

A day after he blamed Raila for Mau evictions,Elgeyo Marakwet Senetor Kipchumba Murkomen has issued a statement. The statement reads:

“The best way to conserve the environment is to carry along the people who live around the forest.I don’t believe the solution lies in using brutal force, burning houses or any other form of human rights violations. In my second visit to Narok South today, I am saddened to learn that about 10 schools have been closed with nearly 4000 children out of school. Women and the old are suffering for no reason.

I believe that the best way to resolve the problem is for the leadership to meet with the people on the ground and find a lasting solution for the best interest of the current and future generations.

If by standing with the poor, the weak & young children who are suffering in Mau I am being disrespectful, then I am guilt as charged. Mahatma Ghandi once said “A nation’s greatness is measured by how it treat s its weakest members.”

Kipchumba is one of the leaders who believe that the only way to gain political mileage is by blaming Raila on everything. For a fact, that narrative can’t work .If at all such leaders wish to connect well with the citizens, they have to solve the following menace:

  1. Corruption
  2. Unemployment
  3. Tribalism
  4. Poverty

Even Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja is aware that Murkomen is out of order—he had two or three words for him yesterday.
