How to Increase your AdSense Income to Above Ksh 100,000 Per Month in Kenya

It’s good as a fellow blogger to share tips in how I have successfully made a fortune out of blogging. If you are a Kenyan blogger, whether you’re a newbie or established one, there are few things you could learn from this article.

In Kenya, it’s every blogger’s wish to earn over Ksh 100,000 per month from AdSense, but this dream fade away due to several factors, which we are going to discuss below.

As you can see, this blog does not have Google AdSense adverts and many of you may question why? I intentionally dropped the adverts for Affiliate marketing, and it happened when I made a decision to build a brand instead of enriching Google—it worked for me.But I should warn you in advance, don’t rush to affiliate marketing if you are not ready to earn nothing before you start seeing sales. Affiliate marketing requires one to sale a product before they earn, unlike Google AdSense where you are only concerned with clicks. Away from that and assuming you are using AdSense on your blog, the first thing to do is, you have to carefully select your topic for you to earn handsome cash from AdSense. Over the period I was using AdSense, I learnt that topics related to loans, insurance, education, banking, medicine and web hosting earned me the most. In fact, at one time I earned Ksh 40,000 per click from a single post I did about Mesothelioma, which is one of the worst type cancer diseases.

I find it awkward when bloggers chase for traffic instead of targeting high paying keywords. But I have noticed many bloggers are using SEMrush, which reveals best paying keywords (you can sign up for free here).During my time in AdSense, I only focused on business, health, web hosting, banking and education topics. In these topics, I was able to make Ksh 5,000 per day from 10,000 visitors-this translated to Ksh 150,000 in a single month. When some bloggers inquire about the highest paying topics, I recommend the ones I have stated above and discourage topics related to entertainment and politics .If you are experienced blogger, you have noticed that entertainment related adverts pay $0.01-$0.05 per click, same to adverts related to politics. This means even if your blog receives 10,000 visitors per day, you won’t earn more than Ksh 1,500 in a day.

Also to note is that where your blog receives traffic from matters a lot.As a blogger you should target traffic from UK,USA,Canada,Australia and UAE. Adverts from these countries pay not less than $.20 per click. It’s also important to note that organic traffic pays more than social media traffic. This is the reason I emphasize on optimizing your blog by using SEO tools or identifying key words that are searchable online.

There is one thing I always emphasize:If you have targeted some amount of traffic per month, you should be prepared to spend more on web hosting. The most popular blogs in Kenya spend up to Ksh200, 000 per month on hosting. There is no way you can spend Ksh2, 100 per year and expect to earn Ksh 100,000 per month from AdSense. Research shows that as traffic increases, AdSense earnings increases too which translates to more spending on web hosting. Due to this scenario, you should look for a more stable web hosting company to host your site so as to keep the income flowing. If for instance you are hosting with Kenya Web Experts, you will find it hard when your blog receives traffic spikes, especially the time one of your articles go viral. I regularly experienced this problem, which cost me a great deal. Later I was forced to migrate my site to Kinsta(you can see their plans here).Right now, the only thing I can tell my fellow bloggers is to identify stable hosting companies for hosting if at all they wish to earn more than Ksh 100,000 per month.

The third and most important point is writing unique and less boring articles. When you write any story, reread to see confirm whether it’s interesting to you. If you find the story boring, never post it for your readers. I will give you one task: search for any content from popular bloggers, you will realize almost all of their articles have catchy headlines and interesting content—the articles are also unique. If you make a mistake of lifting every article from top blogs, you will flatly fail.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO):As a blogger you must understand what SEO means. This word is powerful among bloggers and every aspiring blogger must know how it’s applied in blogging. If you own a blog, you have to target the first page of Google. In other words, all your articles must appear on the first page of Google, failure to achieve this, your blog may die a natural death.Research shows that readers never search content past page one of search engines. More than 90 % of the readers read the first 5 articles and ignore others. Since there are millions of blogs with similar content as yours, your main target should be to defeat them by ranking higher. How do you achieve this? To achieve your target, you must use social media and Search Engine Optimization tools. One of the tools to use is SEMrush, which is a digital marketing tool. Use it consistently until your website starts appearing on page one.

Finally, for your blog to achieve exponential growth both in traffic and income, it must be updated regularly.do you see the way entrepreneurs run their businesses, that is the way you should run your blog. Make sure you post at least one article per day.
